Probably also know your littering laws before taking it out on something you just received from a cop.
Also maybe know the consequences of ignoring a ticket in your province.
Also maybe learn that actions have consequences.
I mean, if you commit a law violation in front of a cop, it’s going to be very difficult not to get caught and dinged for that. I’m speaking pragmatically, not from a moral high ground. I’ve certainly wanted to throw things that I received from the police out the window before.

Should of also ticketed the idiot for the amount of dirt obscuring the rear lights, reflectors and completely illegible rear licence plate.
EDIT: It’s right there at the bottom of the screen.
We’d like to point out that an unreadable licence plate is also a fineable offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Also, that’s a rather pretty sky.

At least they let the “inadequate politeness” slide, he was already having a bad day.

If they are not horseback they are not mounted police

Works for me.
Here’s a video of then Ohio governor John Kasich getting pulled over for failing to move over/slow down when passing a stopped emergency vehicle on the shoulder:
I’m more than a little disappointed that the cop didn’t immediately pull him over again for failing to signal when reentering the highway (he never turned off his right blinker).

You can mount all sort of things that aren’t horses. And really it’s fair to call them mounted police as long as they sometimes mount something, I don’t think they continuously need to be mounting things.

$174 seems low.. . I could have sworn I’ve seen signs posted saying $500 in my state. I can’t seem to find a statute covering Michigan’s penalties for littering in general (like on private property) but apparently if it falls onto the road (specifically, into the path of a vehicle ) it’s “ imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both. ”

That really grinds my gears. He’s literally telling other drivers the exact opposite of what he’s about to do.

Yeah I think AZ’s statue for littering is also higher, but it’s never enforced. The amount of garbage I saw in the parking lot where Scottsdale’s weekly auto meet at the Pavilions would have been sickening had I not already had the internet and seen all the gross stuff before .

Once he’d thrown the litter out the window, I’d have also cited him for the obscured license plate.

I would have done that the first go-round. I have no patience for that.
